The Substitute Teacher Resume Template gives a standard format composed of several headings which a candidate must fill in. These divisions of information help deliver a considerable amount of information in an organized and visually attractive manner. This is important since there are only so many substitute teaching positions at any given time. While it is true many will be accepted, it is also true that only a few will be called upon when a substitute teacher is actually needed. That is, there are two hurdles to jump through when seeking a paying Substitute Teacher position.

It is imperative that teachers take the time out to use high quality language for the content of each section. This resume is the first impression recruiters and principals will have of a candidate. Each section, particularly ones that show the candidates communication skills (i.e. Profile Summary), should also be short and to the point. Job seekers can prepare to fill this template out by reserving a good amount of time for it and making sure their records are handy for reference. A good resume will greatly increase the chances of gaining an interview and (hopefully) a future position.

How to Write

Step 1. Enter your full name at the top of the page in the center. Directly below this, enter your contact information.

Step 2. The Profile summary is a place to deliver a brief statement regarding your experience, abilities, and objective. Ideally, there should be a bullet list of experience and abilities that come into play as a teacher dealing with students. The “Key Skills and Competencies” will be basic skills you possess that apply both to non-teaching positions And to teaching positions. Finally the “Objective” section will be where you declare your intention of attaining the position and how you will function within it.

Step 3. The “Professional Experience” Section will deliver your work history in revers chronological order. Each entry should contain your previous job title, the name and location of the school, and the date range you worked there. This is followed by a list of the duties, skills, and accomplishments you were responsible for there.

Step 4. The final section is “Education.” This is a list of the degrees or certificates you earned.
